Confidence to travel

City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia
We ensure that having a disability is no barrier to enjoying a holiday in the beautiful city of Valencia. Access Valencia was founded by Nicola McMullen-Klein: Nicola is an Occupational Therapist (OT) with almost 20 years experience working in the NHS and for private clients in the UK. She has been coming to Valencia for well over 10 years and now divides her time between Valencia and the UK. Nicola understands the difficulty often faced by disabled travellers and using her knowledge of the city and her expertise in Occupational Therapy was very well placed to help disabled travellers take advantage of everything that Valencia has to offer.

We can support all kinds of travellers, adults, families, children, people with physical disabilities, mental health problems, autism, learning disabilities. Whatever your needs are, we can talk them through with you and help plan and organise your holiday, so you can travel in confidence and enjoy your time away.

Unfortunately, many hotels and accommodation owners state they are wheelchair accessible or disabled friendly. However, this often does not mean it’s completely level access from the roadside to the room. There might be small steps into the building, no ramps available, a small step into the shower, no turning space for wheelchairs. If the accommodation is not suited exactly to your needs, this is likely to have a great impact on your stay.

We can help to avoid this, by thoroughly inspecting and assessing the building and room before you even book it.

Access Valencia has a range of services for all travellers: from a basic accommodation check, where Nicola will take a look at your accommodation to check that it meets your specific needs, to a fully tailored OT support package, where she will help plan your holiday, check your accommodation, be there to meet you at the airport, plan excursions, recommend disabled friendly shops and restaurants and be on hand for your entire stay. We believe that disability should not restrict your ability to travel and we are available to offer a service as individual as you. If you have any queries how we could help you, please do contact us.
